La Jolla Presbyterian Church Sermons

Tradition - Sermon 16th February, 2025

La Jolla Presbyterian Church

This Sunday, Rev. Paul Cunningham will lead us through Mark 7:1-8, 14-23, where Jesus challenges the religious leaders for valuing human traditions over God's commands. He reminds us that faith isn't about rituals but about the condition of our hearts. As we explore the tension between tradition and truth, we'll reflect on how easily we can prioritize customs over genuine devotion. Join us as we continue our Gospel of Mark series and discover how Jesus calls us above tradition to a faith rooted in God's Word and grace.

Questions to consider:

  1. What do you do to make sure you are not “missing” Jesus?
  2. How are you building on the “living faith” of those who have gone before you?

We want to connect with you! Email Pastor Chad at chadf@ljpres.org to get plugged in or you can find our website at ljpres.org/connect. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
