Jesus in the Storm - Sermon 9th February, 2025

La Jolla Presbyterian Church

Life is full of unexpected storms, struggles, and uncertainty. In Mark 6:45-52, the disciples find themselves caught in a storm, struggling against the wind and waves. In their fear, they fail to recognize Jesus as He walks toward them on the water. Yet, in their distress, Jesus speaks of comfort: "Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid." This Sunday, Rev. Paul Cunningham will lead us through this passage, showing how Jesus meets us in our storms and calls us to trust Him. As we explore the tension between fear and faith, we'll reflect on how relying on God can bring peace even in life's most difficult seasons. Join us as we continue our Gospel of Mark series and discover how faith in Jesus calms the storms of our lives!

Questions to consider:
1. Is there a place in my life where I am living with a sense of scarcity rather than abundance?
2. Where has my heart been hardened and what can I do about it?

We want to connect with you! Email Pastor Chad at chadf@ljpres.org to get plugged in or you can find our website at ljpres.org/connect. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
