A New Way For A New Year - Sermon 5th Jan, 2025

La Jolla Presbyterian Church

This Sunday, we’re kicking off an exciting new 16-week sermon series on the Gospel of Mark. Pastor Paul begins the journey with a sermon titled "A New Way For A New Year," focusing on Mark 1:1-8. This opening passage introduces us to John the Baptist, the one sent to prepare the way for Jesus, declaring a message of repentance and renewal. This passage sets the stage for a transformative journey with Christ. Just as John the Baptist called people to prepare their hearts for the coming of Jesus, this sermon invites us to embrace a new way of living as we begin a new year. It’s a call to reflect, renew, and realign our lives with the message of hope and salvation that Jesus brings.

Questions to consider:
1. There is a difference between believing in Jesus and following Jesus. What can you do over the next four months to be more intentional about being on “the way” with Jesus?
2. Is there a place in your life where you feel like the “well” has run dry and you need God’s provision?

We want to connect with you! Email Pastor Chad at chadf@ljpres.org to get plugged in or you can find our website at ljpres.org/connect. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
