Don’t Look Back - Sermon for July 21st, 2024

La Jolla Presbyterian Church

Don’t Look Back - This Sunday Pastor Chad continues our "Look Around" sermon series with a message titled "Don’t Look Back," focusing on Luke 9:57-62. In this passage, Jesus discusses the cost of discipleship, emphasizing the need for total commitment and urging His followers to look forward, not backward. As Jesus travels toward Jerusalem, He encounters several would-be disciples who express their desire to follow Him. However, their commitments are hindered by various personal excuses that ultimately demonstrate a reluctance to leave their past behind. Jesus responds with a challenge that underscores the urgency and uncompromising nature of His mission: "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
